The Chiefs said Green would stay at the hospital as a precautionary measure despite all X-rays coming back negative. There was no time table set for his return to the field.

With 4:52 remaining in the third frame, Green was flushed out of the pocket by Cincinnati's rush. Robert Geathers slammed into the quarterback, driving his upper body into the ground. Green remained down on the field for about 11 minutes before being placed on a stretcher and carted off the field.

Before his exit, Green had completed 11-of-15 passes for 90 yards with an interception. He was replaced by Damon Huard, who finished 12-of-20 passing for 140 yards with a touchdown. He also was sacked four times and fumbled twice.
