
FOXBORO, Mass., Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Ty Warren tackled J.P. Losman in the end zone for a safety late in the fourth quarter as New England rallied to beat Buffalo, 19-17.
Tom Brady was 11-of-23 passing for 163 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Rookie Laurence Maroney rushed for 86 yards on 17 carries, Corey Dillon gained 73 yards on 17 attempts, and both wide receiver Troy Brown and reserve running back Kevin Faulk caught touchdown passes for the Patriots (1-0), who trailed, 17-7, at halftime.
Losman completed 15 of his 23 passes for 164 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions. Willis McGahee rushed for 70 yards on 20 carries, reserve running back Anthony Thomas scored on an 18-yard run in the second quarter, Josh Reed made three catches for 40 yards, and McGahee made two receptions for 24 yards for the Bills (0-1).
