ATLANTA, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Adam LaRoche and Brian McCann each hit two-run homers Saturday night as Atlanta beat the Chicago Cubs, 7-3.
Andruw Jones had three runs and two hits, including a solo homer; Jeff Francoeur hit an RBI single and had two hits; and Marcus Giles hit an RBI double and also had two hits for the Braves (68-73), who have split their last four games.
In seven innings, winner Chuck James (9-3) surrendered three runs and six hits with one walk and six strikeouts.
Matt Murton hit a solo home run; Ryan Theriot hit an RBI single; Aramis Ramirez hit a sacrifice fly; Juan Pierre had two runs and two hits; and Jacque Jones also had two hits for the Cubs (56-86), who have dropped six of their last seven games.
Losing pitcher Wade Miller (0-1) gave up four runs and five hits in three innings.
