
SOUTH BEND, Ind., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Brady Quinn passed for 287 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lead fourth-ranked Notre Dame to a 41-17 victory over 19th-ranked Penn State.
Quinn completed 25-of-36 passes without an interception for Notre Dame (2-0), which just eased past Georgia Tech last week when Quinn threw for 246 yards but did not throw a TD pass.
John Carlson had six catches for 98 yards, and Darius Walker caught seven passes for 72 yards and a touchdown while adding 56 yards rushing.
Anthony Morelli connected on 21-of-33 passes for 189 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Nittany Lions (1-1), who had a six-game winning streak dating back to last season snapped. Tony Hunt rushed for 74 yards on 12 carries while Jordan Norwood made six catches for 91 yards.
