MLB: LA Dodgers 2, Milwaukee 1

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Derek Lowe gave up a run and three hits in eight innings Wednesday night as the Los Angeles Dodgers edged Milwaukee, 2-1, for their fifth straight win.

Rafael Furcal hit a sacrifice fly, and Matt Kemp hit an RBI single and had two of the five hits for the Dodgers (74-65), who have won six of their last 10 games.

Lowe (14-8) had one walk and one strikeout.

Takashi Saito recorded his 18th save.

The only Brewers' run scored on a throwing error by Los Angeles left-fielder Andre Ethier in the bottom of the second inning. Three players each had one hit for the Brewers (64-76), who have lost eight times in their last 10 games.

Losing pitcher Chris Capuano (11-10) yielded two runs and five hits in eight innings with two walks and three strikeouts.
