CHICAGO, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Xavier Nady drove in three runs Monday as the Pittsburgh Pirates posted a 5-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

The Pirates have won five of their last seven games. Paul Maholm (7-10) allowed four runs on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts to win his third straight decision.

Ryan Theriot finished with three runs batted in for the Cubs, who lost their fourth straight game against the Pirates.

Carlos Zambrano (14-6) suffered the shortest outing of his career -- 1 1/3 innings -- after leaving the game because of back spasms. He allowed five runs on four hits with four walks.

Zambrano is day-to-day with the injury.
