FRISCO, Texas, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Arturo Alvarez scored late in the second half, as FC Dallas beat the Houston Dynamo, 1-0, Saturday night.

The victory gives the Hoops a nine-point lead over Houston for first place in the Western Conference, 45-36.

The Dynamo squad was cut to 10 in the 31st minute when Eddie Robinson received his second yellow card of the match. He was ejected for violent conduct a minute after being cited for bringing the game into disrepute.
