MLS: Columbus 3, New England 0

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Jason Garey scored in the first three minutes Saturday night as the Columbus Crew beat New England, 3-0, in a Major League Soccer contest.

Eddie Gaven and Ezra Hendrickson scored the other goals, and goalkeeper Bill Gaudette made two critical saves in the first half for Columbus (6-13-8), which is last in the Eastern Conference with 26 points.

Matt Reis made five saves for the Revolution (7-9-10), who are third in the East with 31 points.
