MLB: Philadelphia 16, Atlanta 4

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Mike Lieberthal drove in four runs Saturday night as Philadelphia walloped Atlanta, 16-4, to get a doubleheader split.

Atlanta won the opener, 4-3.

Jimmy Rollins hit a two-run double and a sacrifice fly; Jose Hernandez had two runs, four hits and two RBI; Lieberthal had two runs and three hits; Ryan Howard hit an RBI double; Jeff Conine hit an RBI single; and the Phillies (68-67) scored a run on an error by Atlanta third baseman Chipper Jones, as they tied a season-high with 16 runs. The Phillies have split their last 10 games.

In relief, the winner was Eude Brito (1-2).

Jones hit a two-run homer, Brian McCann hit an RBI single, and Scott Thorman had one RBI for the Braves (64-70), who lost for the fourth time in their last 10 games.

Losing pitcher Kyle Davies (2-4) lasted only 2 1/3 innings, giving up seven runs and 10 hits.
