COL FB: Texas Tech 35, SMU 3

LUBBOCK, Texas, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Graham Harrell passed for 342 yards and five touchdowns Saturday to lead 25th-ranked Texas Tech to a 35-3 victory over SMU.

The Red Raiders (1-0) won their 10th straight home game.

Harrell completed 34-of-49 passes. Robert Johnson caught 15 passes for 139 yards and two TDs while Shannon Woods rushed for 104 yards on 15 carries.

Justin Willis was 9-of-16 for 69 yards for the Mustangs (0-1), who were out-gained on offense 494 yards to 189. Willis was also SMU's leading rusher with 39 yards on 12 carries.

Thomas Morstead's 38-yard field goal with 6:30 left in the first quarter gave the Mustangs an early a 3-0 lead, but the Red Raiders scored the game's final 35 points.
