SEATTLE, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Shawn Alexander and Marquis Weeks each rushed for touchdowns, lifting the Seattle Seahawks to a 30-7 NFL preseason victory over the Oakland Raiders.
Alexander scored Seattle's first points Thursday and Wallace totaled 78 yards rushing as the Seahawks wrapped up their exhibition season with a 2-2 record. The Raiders were 4-1 in their exhibitions.
Chris Carr returned a punt 72 yards for a touchdown with the game barely a minute old, but it would prove to be the final Oakland score of the contest. Just four minutes later Alexander ended an 80-yard drive with a 50-yard scoring run.
Seattle went ahead on a 44-yard Josh Brown field goal early in the second quarter and the kicker converted a 51-yard try with 6:34 left in the half for a 13-7 Seahawks lead. Seneca Wallace threw a 12-yard scoring pass to D.J. Hackett three minutes later that put Seattle up 20-7 by halftime.
Weeks' 1-yard touchdown run marked the only score of the third period and Brown completed the scoring with a 43-yard kick with 4:32 to play.
Seattle moves on to its regular-season opener at Detroit on Sept. 10. The Raiders open the season at home against San Diego on Sept. 11.
