
ATLANTA, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Quinn Gray passed for 129 yards and a touchdown Thursday night as Jacksonville beat the Falcons, 20-17, in an NFL preseason contest in Atlanta.
Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for 58 yards on six carries, and Alvin Pearman added 47 yards on eight attempts. Cortez Hankton, Charles Sharon and Chad Owens combined for nine receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns. And Josh Scobee booted two field goals for the Jaguars, who were 3-1 in the preseason.
D.J. Shockley completed nine of his 15 passes for 94 yards and one touchdown, and Matt Schaub was 4-of-7 for 52 yards and one touchdown. Kevin Youngblood made six catches for one touchdown and 82 yards. Marlion Jackson ran for 89 yards on 17 attempts, and while Jerious Norwood had a 70-yard run for the Falcons (2-2).
In their respective season openers, Jacksonville is at home to Dallas on Sept. 10, and Atlanta is at Carolina.
