Hernandez threw just 59 pitches in six innings, and 47 of those were strikes, the report said.

There were 16 Angels ground outs in the game.

The Mariners scored twice in the fourth after Richie Sexson doubled home a run with a line drive off the left-field wall and Kenji Johjima hit a ball toward short that bounced away from Orlando Cabrera for an RBI single.

Angles starter Kelvin Escobar gave up on two runs in the game on seven hits, nine strikeouts and no walks, for his 12th loss of the season.
