MLB: Kansas City 2, Minnesota 0

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Mark Redman pitched his second career shutout Tuesday to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 2-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins.

Redman (8-8) allowed five singles and did not walk a batter. John Buck had an RBI and Emil Brown had two hits with a run scored for the Royals.

Matt Garza pitched 7 2/3 innings but suffered the loss for Minnesota, which has dropped two straight following a four-game winning streak. Garza (1-3) surrendered two runs on five hits with seven strikeouts. Jason Bartlett had two hits in the loss.
