NFL: Jacksonville 29, Tampa Bay 18

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Byron Leftwich passed for 167 yards and one touchdown Saturday night as Jacksonville beat Tampa Bay, 29-18, in an NFL pre-season game at Jacksonville. Leftwich, who was sacked four times in the first half, completed 13 of his 20 passes and threw a 19-yard scoring pass to Matt Jones in the third quarter. He also ran for a one-yard touchdown in the same quarter as the Jaguars overcame an 11-0 halftime deficit. Rookie Maurice Jones-Drew rushed for 42 yards on 10 carries; and Jones had four catches for 52 yards for the Jaguars (2-1).

Bruce Gradkowski was 10-of-17 for 124 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, Chris Simms was 9-of-14 for 77 yards; Earnest Graham was held to 27 yards on four carries; Chas Gessner made three receptions for 68 yards, and Mike Alstott ran for a two-yard score for the Buccaneers (1-2).
