Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
UNCASVILLE, Conn., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 18 points Saturday afternoon to lead Connecticut over Detroit, 77-68, in Game Two of the WNBA Eastern Conference Finals.
Margo Dydek added 17 points and five rebounds, and Nykesha Sales scored 15 points as the Sun evened the series at a game each.
All-star guard Katie Douglas again struggled due to a hairline fracture in her right foot, suffered in the Sun's clinching game against Washington in the conference semifinals last Saturday.
Deanna Nolan had 27 points, six rebounds and three assists; and Cheryl Ford had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Shock, who owned Connecticut in the regular season, winning all four contests the teams played.
Detroit came within 60-55 in the third period, when Nolan scored 11 of her 27 points.
Game Three also is in Uncasville, Conn., Sunday night.
