PHOENIX, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- It took a two-out home run in the 15th by Orlando Hudson to push Arizona past the Dodgers, 9-7, in a marathon Friday game at Chase Field.
Hudson had all the drama he wanted, with two outs, the count full and relief pitcher Brandon Lyon on base with a walk. He smacked an Aaron Sele pitch to deep center field for the homer, finishing 4 for 6 with three RBI for the Diamondbacks.

Arizona starter Claudio Vargas only lasted 4 1/3 innings, allowing six runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts and no walks. But the Diamondback bullpen came to the rescue, pitching 10 2/3 innings and only giving up one run. Lyon pitched two shutout innings.
Arizona snapped a four-game losing streak; Los Angeles is on a four-game losing streak.
