BRISTOL, Tenn., Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Kurt Busch Friday won the pole position for Saturday's Sharpie 500 Nextel Cup race at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn.
His No.2 Dodge circled the 0.533-mile high-banked short track in 15.362 seconds (124.906 mph).
The pole victory was Busch's fourth of the season and fifth of his Nextel Cup career.
"It's my favorite track of them all, there's no doubt about that," Busch said earlier this week. "It's like a homecoming every time we go there."
Starting alongside Busch will be Jeff Burton.
Bobby Labonte and Matt Kenseth will start on Row Two.
The remainder of the top-10 consists of Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Petty, Elliott Sadler and Reed Sorenson.
After last week's race at Brooklyn, Mich., the top-10 drivers in the chase for the cup remained the same. Jimmie Johnson is the leader, followed by Kenseth, Harvick, Mark Martin, Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Busch, Hamlin, Burton and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
