ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Aug. 24 (UPI) -- A sacrifice fly by Mark Teixeira in the top of the third inning Thursday night produced the winning run as Texas edged Tampa Bay, 4-3.

A solo home run by Carlos Lee, an RBI double by Hank Blalock, and a passed ball by Tampa Bay catcher Dioner Navarro led to the other runs for the Rangers (66-63), who have split their last 10 games.

Winner Robinson Tejada (3-3) gave up two runs and five hits over 7 2/3 innings with two walks and three strikeouts.

Akinori Otsuka earned his 27th save.

Greg Norton and Jorge Cantu hit sacrifice flies; Travis Lee hit an RBI single; and both Lee and Carl Crawford had two hits for the Devil Rays (52-76), who also have split their last 10 games.

Losing pitcher Tim Corcoran (4-6) yielded four runs and five hits in six innings with two walks and four strikeouts.
