IRVING, Texas, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Quarterback Drew Henson was cut from the Dallas Cowboys Wednesday.
Coach Bill Parcells said on the team's Web site he did not see enough of Henson in training camp.
Henson played baseball in the New York Yankees farm system after he was a third-round draft pick by the Houston Texans in 2003.
He played in only seven NFL games since being traded to Dallas by Houston in 2004, and had dropped to fourth-string on the team's depth chart behind starter Drew Bledsoe, Tony Romo, and undrafted free agent Matt Baker.
"I didn't get a fair shot to compete," Henson told the Dallas Morning News. "I went to NFL Europe (but) what did that give me? I wanted to make it work here ... this is all part of sports."
Henson starred as a starter in college at Michigan ahead of New England's Tom Brady.
