MLS: Los Angeles 2, FC Dallas 0

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Landon Donovan and Santino Quaranta scored goals as the Los Angeles Galaxy beat Western Conference leader FC Dallas, 2-0, Sunday night.

Donovan scored first, in the 26th minute, and Quaranta finished the scoring with a goal in first-half stoppage time.

The victory gives the Galaxy 26 points through 23 matches.

FC Dallas still has a commanding lead in the Western Conference with 39 points, four points ahead of the Houston Dynamo.
