MLB: Atlanta 3, Pittsburgh 0

ATLANTA, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- John Smoltz allowed just three hits over eight innings Monday as the Atlanta Braves blanked the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-0.

Smoltz (11-6) struck out walked only one for the Braves, who have won four of their last five games.

Martin Prado, called up from Triple-A Richmond prior to the game, had two RBI, and Adam LaRoche scored twice in the win.

Zach Duke (8-11) suffered the loss after yielding three runs on seven hits over seven innings for Pittsburgh, which has lost three games in a row.
