ST. LOUIS, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Vernand Morency rushed 11 times for 95 yards and two touchdowns Saturday to lead Houston to a 27-20 pre-season victory over the St. Louis Rams.
David Carr completed 10-of-17 passes for 99 yards and Sage Rosenfels added 99 yards through the air with a touchdown pass. Derrick Lewis caught three passes for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Mario Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2006 draft, made just one tackle.
Veteran Gus Frerotte passed for 93 yards on 7-of-11 completions and a touchdown. Marc Bulger completed 7-of-13 passes for 86 yards.
Shaun McDonald caught four passes for 50 yards and a touchdown while Torry Holt finished with 48 receiving yards on four receptions.
