EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Eli Manning completed 14-of-18 passes and the New York defense allowed just 111 yards in the Giants' 17-0 NFL exhibition victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Manning had a 5-yard scoring pass to Amani Toomer among his 80 yards passing in Thursday night's preseason game and Brandon Jacobs rushed for a touchdown. The Giants, 2-0 in the preseason, scored on two of the three series Manning played.

Kansas City, 0-2 in exhibitions this year, was limited to 111 total yards -- 40 on the ground and 71 through the air on 13-of-24 passing.

New York converted a pair of third-down situations before Manning ended the Giants' first possession with a throw to a wide-open Toomer over the middle midway through the first period. That score was also a third-down play.

The Giants went up 14-0 while working on their no-huddle offense in the second period, but two Kansas City penalties were key in setting up Jacobs' 5-yard scoring run.

Jay Feely had a 31-yard field goal at the end of the third period for the game's final points.
