Nets sign guard Eddie House

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Aug. 17 (UPI) -- The New Jersey Nets have added former Phoenix Suns guard Eddie House to their roster.

Nets President Rod Thorn announced the deal Thursday but did not reveal details of the arrangement.

"We are pleased to add Eddie to our roster," Thorn said. "He is a proven veteran who will enhance our scoring off the bench."

House, a 6-1 guard from Arizona State, averaged 9.8 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game last season, and has averaged 7.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in the 378 games of his career with the Suns, the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami, Charlotte, Milwaukee and Sacramento over six NBA seasons.
