MLB: Milwaukee 5, Pittsburgh 2 (13 inn.)

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- A two-run single by David Bell in the top of the 13th inning Wednesday afternoon helped Milwaukee beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-2.

Bell had a run, four hits and the two RBI; Brady Clark hit an RBI single; Mike Rivera had two hits and two RBI; and Tony Graffanino had a run and two hits for the Brewers (57-63), have split their last six games.

The winning pitcher was reliever Geremi Gonzalez (4-2).

Francisco Cordero recorded his eighth save in 10 chances since joining the Brewers in a trade with Texas last month.

Jose Hernandez and Xavier Nady each drove in a run; Hernandez had a run and three hits; and Freddy Sanchez had two hits for the Pirates (46-75), who have six losses in their last 10 games.

The loser was reliever Damaso Marte, who sank to 0-7.

The Brewers improved to 7-1 in extra-innings games this season.
