LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Dodgers kept up their winning ways Monday, downing Florida, 4-2.

Los Angeles has won five in a row and 16 of their last 17 games.

Derek Lowe pitcher seven innings and Nomar Garciaparra homered and knocked in three runs for Los Angeles.

Lowe gave up one run on four hits, striking out two and walking two for the Dodgers.

Julio Lugo finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored for the Dodgers, who are 4-0 against Florida this season.

Miguel Olivo went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored for the Marlins, who had won four of their previous six contests.
