MLS: Colorado 1, Los Angeles 0

DENVER, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Nicolas Hernandez scored late in the first half and the Colorado Rapids went on to beat the Los Angeles Galaxy, 1-0, Saturday night.

The Rapids ended a two-game losing streak and held their one-point lead over Chivas USA for third place in the Western Conference.

Hernandez scored in the 41st minute with help from Kyle Beckerman and Thiago Martins. It was Hernandez's sixth goal of the season.

The Galaxy remain tied with Real Salt Lake for last place in the Western Division.
