ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Five players each knocked in a run Saturday night as Texas beat the Seattle Mariners, 5-4, for its fourth straight win.

The players were Gary Matthews, Jr., Michael Young, Mark DeRosa, Nelson Cruz, and Gerald Laird.

Mark Teixeira had a run and three hits; while Laird, Matthews, and Young all had two hits for the Rangers (60-58).

Winner Edinson Volquez (1-1) scattered four hits over seven scoreless innings with three walks and three strikeouts.

Akinori Otsuka earned his 23rd save.

Texas reliever Joaquin Benoit gave up four runs and three hits in 2/3 of an inning.

Yuniesky Betancourt had one run, two hits, and two RBI; Kenji Johjima and Willie Bloomquist each drove in one run; and Johjima had three hits for the Mariners (56-60), who have dropped their last three games.

Losing pitcher Jamie Moyer (6-11) yielded five runs and 10 hits in six innings.
