MLB: Oakland 5, Tampa Bay 2

OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Bobby Kielty hit a two-run homer Friday night to help Oakland beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 5-2.

Frank Thomas hit an RBI single; Marco Scutaro hit an RBI double; Mark Ellis hit a sacrifice fly; and both Jay Payton and Jason Kendall had a run and two hits for the Athletics (63-52), who have won three of their last four games.

Winner Dan Haren (10-9) gave up two runs and five hits in seven innings with one walk and seven strikeouts. Huston Street earned his 27th save.

Rocco Baldelli hit a solo homer; a run scored on Kendall's passed ball in the third inning; while both Johnny Gomes and Travis Lee had two hits for the Devil Rays (47-69), who have a four-game losing streak.

Losing pitcher Scott Kazmir (10-8) yielded three runs and four hits in five innings with two walks and six strikeouts.
