
WASHINGTON, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- The New York Mets used a two-run rally in the top of the eighth inning Saturday night to beat Washington, 6-4.
The runs came on an RBI single by Jose Valentin and a sacrifice fly by Michael Tucker.
Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran hit run-scoring triples; Lasting Milledge and Paul Lo Duca hit RBI singles; Beltran had three hits; and David Wright scored twice for the Mets (70-45), who have won six of their last seven games.
In relief, the winner was Pedro Feliciano (5-2). Billy Wagner earned his 27th save.
Reyes leads the majors with 15 triples.
Alfonso Soriano hit a two-run homer, while Nick Johnson added a solo homer and knocked in two runs for the Nationals (51-65), who have split their last 10 games.
The losing pitcher was reliever Chris Schroder (0-1).
Felipe Lopez stole his 31st base of the season.
