NEW YORK, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Maicer Izturis drove in three runs Friday night to help the Los Angeles Angels beat the New York Yankees, 7-4.
Izturis had two runs and three hits, including a solo home run; Vladimir Guerrero and Garret Anderson also hit solo homers; and Chone Figgins had two runs and two hits for the Angels (60-56), who have split their last four games.
Winning pitcher Joe Saunders (4-0) allowed three runs and six hits in six innings with two walks and four strikeouts. Francisco Rodriguez earned his 29th save.
Alex Rodriguez had two runs and two hits, including a solo homer; Sal Fasano hit a two-run double; and Jason Giambi hit an RBI single for the Yankees (67-45), who have three losses in their last four games.
Loser Cory Lidle (1-1) gave up three runs and four hits in four innings. In relief, Sidney Ponson surrendered three runs and five hits in three innings.
