MLB: Florida 9, Washington 6

WASHINGTON, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Dan Uggla hit a two-run homer and three other players drove in two runs each Thursday night, as Florida rallied to beat the Washington Nationals, 9-6.

Wes Helms hit a two-run double; Josh Willingham had a run and three hits, including a solo home run; Miguel Cabrera had two hits and one RBI; while Miguel Olivo, Joe Borchard and Reggie Abercrombie all had one RBI for the Marlins (53-61), who have split their last four games.

In relief, the winning pitcher was Brian Moehler (6-8). Joe Borowski recorded his 24th save.

Alfonso Soriano, who had two hits, smashed his 36th home run, a leadoff shot in the bottom of the first; Nick Johnson hit a two-run single and a sacrifice fly; and Daryle Ward hit an RBI double for the Nationals (50-64), who have lost four of their last five games.

The loser was rookie reliever Ryan Wagner (0-1).
