St. Louis Blues add goaltender Legace

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- The St. Louis Blues added goaltender Manny Legace to the lineup Tuesday.

Legace, 33, is expected to shore up a defense that allowed the third most goals in the league last year, averaging 3.46 per game.

Last season, with Detroit, Legace appeared in 51 games and posted a 37-8 record with a 2.19 goals-against average.

Entering his eighth season in the league, Legace spent the 1998-99 season with the Kings, his first in the NHL. He was acquired by Detroit as a free agent prior to the start of the 1999-2000 season. In 197 appearances he has a 114-43-18 record with 13 shutouts and a 2.21 GAA.
