LYTHAM, England, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- With a 6-under-par 66 Saturday, Sherri Steinhauer has a three-shot lead after three rounds of the Women's British Open Golf Tournament at Lytham, England.
Steinhauer has an overall score of 7-under 209.
"I love the imagination that it takes to play on this type of golf course," said Steinhauer, who will try to win a major tournament for the third time in her career on Sunday. "I love the hard conditions, the hard fairways. This golf course just kind of suits my game when I'm playing well. Back in '98 and this year, I'm swinging much better. This golf course suits my game quite well."
Juli Inkster (74), Lorena Ochoa (65), Karen Stupples (70), and Sophie Gustafson (69) all are tied for second place at 4-under 212.
Cristie Kerr (66), Candie Kung (71), and Natalie Gulbis (67) all tied for sixth at 3-under 213.
