
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- An eighth inning sacrifice fly Wednesday night by Edgar Renteria gave the Atlanta Braves a 3-2 win at Pittsburgh.
Matt Diaz hit a solo home run, and Todd Pratt hit an RBI double for the Braves (40-56), who were held to six hits but got their second win in a row after a four-game losing streak.
In relief, the winner was Tyler Yates (1-1). Bob Wickman recorded his fourth save with Atlanta, and his 19th of the season.
He made 15 saves for Cleveland before he was traded.
Jason Bay hit an RBI double, Jack Wilson hit an RBI single, and Freddy Sanchez had a run and two hits for the Pirates (40-68), who have dropped two straight after a five-game winning streak.
The losing pitcher was reliever Salomon Torres (3-5).
Braves' first baseman Adam LaRoche is day-to-day after straining his right hamstring in the fifth inning.
