BROOKLYN, Mich., July 30 (UPI) -- Helio Castroneves captured Sunday's rain delayed Firestone Indy 400 at Brooklyn, Mich.

Castroneves finished 1.6 seconds ahead of runner-up Vitor Meira to get his fourth win of the season. He has 11 wins in his IndyCar career.

Dan Wheldon was third, Tony Kanaan fourth and Tomas Scheckter was fifth.

Scott Sharp, Ed Carpenter, Marco Andretti, Kosuke Matsuura and Jeff Simmons completed the top 10 finishers.

The win by Castroneves, combined with his teammate's last place finish, means he is the new IRL points leader -- eight points ahead of Sam Hornish Jr.
