
LOS ANGELES, July 29 (UPI) -- Russell Martin hit a two-run double and a two-run homer Saturday afternoon as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat Washington, 7-5.
Rafael Furcal had two hits, including a solo homer; Andre Ethier hit a sacrifice fly; and Jason Repko had a run and two hits for the Dodgers (49-55), who have won two in a row following an eight-game losing streak.
The winning pitcher was Derek Lowe (8-7), who gave up four runs and seven hits in five innings.
Jonathan Broxton earned his first major league save.
Nick Johnson hit a two-run homer; Alfonso Soriano, Felipe Lopez and Ryan Church all had one RBI apiece; and Lopez and Marlon Anderson had two hits for the Nationals (49-55), who have dropped two straight after a six-game winning streak.
The loser was Michael O'Connor (3-7), who surrendered seven runs and six hits in four-plus innings.
