TURNBERRY, Scotland, July 28 (UPI) -- Loren Roberts and Eduardo Romero are co-leaders after 36 holes of the Senior British Open Golf Tournament in Turnberry, Scotland.
In Friday's second round, Roberts shot his second straight 5-under 65, and Romero shot a 7-under 63. They are 10-under 130 heading into Saturday's third round.
Romero's round was highlighted by an eagle at the par-five 17th hole. The eagle followed a 379 yard drive, making his eagle putt only four feet.
"Unbelievable!," Romero said. "I think that was the longest drive I have ever hit."
He closed the day with a three-foot birdie putt at 18.
Craig Stadler (66), who has two Champions Tour major titles, is alone in third place at 9-under 131.
David Edwards (65) is fourth at 8-under 132 with Tim Simpson (67) and Gil Morgan (65) tied for fifth at 7-under 133.
