The Times of London said Landis' whereabouts were unknown after he withdrew from races in the Netherlands and Denmark this week.

The rider concerned was said to have tested positive for testosterone after last Thursday's stage through the Alps to Morzine, which Landis won, sources in France said.

Stadler, a former Masters champion and two-time Champions Tour winner, birdied the first hole but had a bogey on the second hole. He triple-bogeyed No. 15, but he shot an eagle on the par-five 17th hole to get to five-under-par.

Roberts had a steadier round without a single bogey.
