Krajicek leads winners at Budapest

BUDAPEST, Hungary, July 26 (UPI) -- Michaella Krajicek and Anna Smashnova were second-round winners Wednesday at the Budapest Grand Prix in Hungary.

Krajicek, the second seed from the Netherlands, beat unseeded Tszvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria, 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 6-1. The eighth-seeded Smashnova of Israel, the defending champion, trounced unseeded Laura Pous Tio of Spain, 6-0, 6-2.

Unseeded Martina Muller of Germany knocked off No. 7 Martina Sucha of Slovakia, 6-3, 6-0. Qualifier Sara Errani of Italy topped Yuliana Fedak of Ukraine, 6-1, 6-4.

In the third round, top-seeded Catalina Castano of Colombia faces Aravane Rezai of France, Errani will meet Krajicek, and Muller plays Smashnova.
