KITZBUHEL, Austria, July 24 (UPI) -- Stefan Koubek was among Monday's first-round winners at the Generali Open in his native Austria.
Koubek defeated Costa Rica's Juan Antonio Marin 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-1). Austrian Andreas Haider-Maurer beat Argentine Damian Patriarca 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-3.
Austrian Armin Sandbichler lost to Serbian Dusan Vemic 6-3, 6-3.
Also, Spaniard Alex Calatrava lost to Argentine Diego Junqueira 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, and Australian Peter Luczak defeated Czech Ivo Minar 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.
