MLB: Florida 4, Pittsburgh 1

MIAMI, July 21 (UPI) -- Cody Ross had two runs and two hits, including a two-run homer, Friday night as Florida beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-1.

Josh Willingham and Wes Helms each drove in a run, and Ross had two hits for the Marlins (43-52), who have won twice in their last three games.

Winner Scott Olsen (8-4) allowed one run and six hits in 6 2/3 innings with two walks and 11 strikeouts. With a scoreless ninth, Joe Borowski recorded his 20th save.

Jose Castillo hit a run-scoring ground-out, and Jose Hernandez had two hits for the Pirates (35-63), who have split their last six games.

Losing pitcher Paul Maholm (3-9) surrendered four runs and five hits in six innings with one walk and five strikeouts.
