American Jeff Morrison wins RCA opener

INDIANAPOLIS, July 17 (UPI) -- American Jeff Morrison was among Monday's opening-round tennis winners at the $575,000 RCA Championships in Indianapolis.

Morrison defeated Mexican Santiago Gonzalez 6-2, 6-2. He will meet fellow American Kevin Kim in the second round.

Another American reached the round of 32, as Sam Querrey, 18, defeated Serb Janko Tipsarevic 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4. Querrey meets third-seeded Fernando Gonzalez" class="tpstyle">Chilean Fernando Gonzalez in the second round.

An American who failed to advance was Amer Delic, who lost to Ramon Delgado of Paraguay 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5).
