SILVIS, Ill., July 15 (UPI) -- Australian John Senden posted a 7-under 64 Saturday and to take a three-shot lead into Sunday's final round of the John Deere Classic at Silvis, Ill.
Senden birdied three of his final six holes in the third round to complete a bogey-free day. He stands at 16-under 197 and holds a 54-hole lead for the first time on the PGA Tour.
Heath Slocum and Patrick Sheehan shot matching 66s and are tied for second at 13-under 200. Second-round leader Joe Ogilvie had a 69 and leads a group of five players who share fourth place at 201.
Senden, 35, owns three international titles -- the 1996 Indonesian PGA Championship and two European Challenge Tour wins. His best-ever PGA Tour finish was a tie for fifth at this year's Bob Hope Chrysler Classic.
