DUBLIN, Ireland, July 7 (UPI) -- Bradley Dredge of Wales shot a two-under-par 70 Friday to take a one-stroke lead after the second round of the European Open in Dublin, Ireland.

Dredge is at nine-under-par 135 after 36 holes.

Just behind Dredge is fellow countryman Stephen Dodd, who had a three-under 69 for second place at eight-under. Darren Clarke stroked a four-under 68 in round two for third at seven-under 137.

Jeev Milkha Singh and Anthony Wall also shot 68s to move into a tie for fourth place at minus-six with Soren Kjeldsen, who hit his second straight round of three-under 69 in round two.

The lead was a nice birthday present for the Welshman. Dredge turned 33 on Thursday.
