DENVER, July 5 (UPI) -- Nicolas Hernandez garnered a pair of goals and an assist to lead the Colorado Rapids over the New England Revolution, 3-2, Tuesday.
Kyle Beckerman also scored for the Rapids, who played for the first time in 10 days after a 1-0 loss to FC Dallas on June 24.
Clint Dempsey and Taylor Twellman scored for the Revolution, who fell to .500 at 5-5-6. New England had a two-game win streak snapped, and also lost for the first time in seven matches.
It was the first of two meetings between the two clubs this season.
