
CLEVELAND, July 5 (UPI) -- Melky Cabrera hit a grand slam homer during an eight-run fourth inning Wednesday night as the New York Yankees beat Cleveland, 11-3.
Cabrera also hit an RBI single, Derek Jeter hit a sacrifice fly, Alex Rodríguez and Miguel Cairo hit RBI singles, and Jorge Posada hit a two-run double for the Yankees (47-35), who have split their last four games and rebounded from a 19-1 shellacking on Tuesday night.
Winner Mike Mussina (10-3) gave up three runs on five hits in six innings with one walk and four strikeouts.
Ben Broussard hit a two-run homer, and Todd Hollandsworth added a solo shot for the Indians (39-44), who had a four-game winning streak broken.
Losing pitcher Paul Byrd (6-6) surrendered 10 hits and nine runs in 3 2/3 innings. He had no walks and struck two.
