Tommie Harris' wife dies

FRISCO, Texas, July 4 (UPI) -- Christian Gomez scored the game's only goal Tuesday to give D.C. United a 1-0 MSL victory over Dallas.
Freddy Adu added his sixth assist of the season for United, which hasn't lost since a May 6 game against the Colorado Rapids. The loss to the Rapids was the team's only loss of this season.
Dallas is in a three-game losing streak.
United's Troy Perkins only needed to make three saves for his league-leading sixth shutout of the season.
