MLB: Washington 9, Florida 1

WASHINGTON, July 3 (UPI) -- Alfonso Soriano had two home runs and four RBI Monday to lead the Washington Nationals to a 9-1 victory over the Florida Marlins.

Jose Guillen hit a three-run homer and Brian Schneider had two hits, scored a run and drove in a run for Washington, which has won three straight.

Pedro Astacio (1-0) earned the win after giving up a run on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts over five innings.

Reggie Abercrombie hit a home run to provide the lone run for the Marlins, who have lost three straight.

Ricky Nolasco (6-5) was charged with the loss after giving up eight runs -- seven earned -- on seven hits over four-plus innings.
